Review by Colin Clarke & Interview by James Harrington

Fanfare ArchiveColin Clarke

„A celebration of both a golden age of harpsichord music and the “Colmar-Rückers” historic harpsichord built some four centuries ago—this is a very special disc. The double-manual instrument, housed in the Musée Unterlinden, Colmar, has a remarkably rich and full sound for a harpsichord, The pitch is A = 392 Hz, and the disc was recorded in that museum in October 2024. Le clavecin poétique follows on from Vorobjova’s previous releases for Dabringhaus und Grimm, all of which I have welcomed in these pages: Bach … con passione (Fanfare 48:1); Scarlatti … ma cantabile (46:3); and Krieger Sechs Muskalische Partien (45:2). Not to forget an Amati release, Cembalo Cantabile (Fanfare 47:2).“
